Hummus
Hummus (About 1.5 cup)
Ingredients:
- Chick Peas (rinsed and drained with net weight 250g) 1 can (400g)
- Lemon Juice (60ml) ¼ Cup
- Tahini (60ml) ¼ Cup
- Garlic 1 clove (Chopped)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2 Tablespoon
- Cumin Powder ½ teaspoon
- Pinch of Salt
- Water 3 tablespoons
- Pinch of Paprika
Instructions
- Blend Tahini and lemon juice for 1 minute, scape the mixture and blend for 30 seconds more to make the paste smoother.
- Mix olive oil, garlic and cumin powder and ½ teaspoon of salt in Tahini mixture, blend for 30 seconds. Scrape the mixture and blend for further 30 seconds.
- Add half of the chick peas into the mixture and blend for 1 minute. Scrape the mixture and add the remaining chick peas, blend for 2 minutes till the chick pea mixture is thick and smooth.
- If the hummus is too thick, slowly add a few tablespoons of water to have the desired consistency.
- Add some olive oil and paprika on the hummus, apply on pita bread or other bread or soda cracker.
